27 September 1996 Damon Hill announced today that next year he will be racing for the Arrows-Footwork Hart team, which only managed to get one point this year and which has never won a Grand Prix. The Arrows will be competing with the Yamaha engine next year.
17 September 1996 Steward Racing said that they would like to have Damon Hill as their main driver next year.
4 September 1996 Williams has confirmed that they have signed German driver Heinz-Harald Frentzen to partner Jacques Villeneuve in 1997. Frank Williams also said that he would like to see Michael Schumacher in a Williams in the future.
1 September 1996 Williams has dropped Damon Hill for the 1997 season. The rumour is that Hill's place will be taken by H.-H. Frentzen.
